GM 3 Pin Connector, Transfer Case Swtich, The Dorman lock-out hub switch is used to lock hubs in 4-wheel drive vehicles. When switch is disengaged the vehicle will be in "freewheel" drive. Which this switch is engaged then the vehicle will automatically shift into 4-wheel drive.

4wd quick tips

1. Never engage 4w-Low range while moving. 
2. Doing so could cause internal damage to the transfer case.  Refer to owners manual for proper operation.
3. It is not recommended to engage 4wd  on dry pavement,
4. If you are on dry pavement. never run your transfer case in 4w-Low range. 
5. When installing a new transfer case motor, be sure to pay attention to the location of the speed sensor wires.  They must be reinstalled in the same position on the new motor.
6. Always disconnect the battery before working on any part of the 4wd system.
7. Both transfer case and 4wd operation are sensitive to variations in the tire size and pressure.  Tires should be within ¼ inch circumference of the manufacturer’s specifications.
